Accused had obsession with skulls and bones

A WOMAN accused of murdering Kerang man William Stevenson had obsession with skulls and bones and was obsessed with collecting a human skull.

Danielle Kerr, 37, today appeared at Bendigo Magistrates Court on the second day of a committal hearing where she faces a charge of murder and accessory to murder.

Her co-accused, Darren Lewis, 47, is facing one charge of murder, but did not appear in court for medical reasons.

Magistrate Kay Robertson heard from Kerr's former housemate, Wayne Doidge, who said Kerr had a fascination with skulls and kept a "crate of bones".
Mr Doidge said Kerr was interested in some of the cat skulls in his backyard and had on several occasions mentioned she wanted to add a human skull to her collection.

Mr Doidge said Kerr mentioned the idea three or four times and prompted him to suggest that she go and "dig one up from the cemetery".

He said Kerr's obsession with skulls went beyond fascination and was behind the reason he kicked her out of his house, where they had been living as flat mates.
