Book now for Summer in the Parks nocturnal animal spotlight walks

Bookings are now being taken for the very popular nocturnal animal spotlight walks which have again been included in the annual Summer in the Parks program for January.

The spotlight walks book out quickly and residents are urged to book now as only limited spaces are available on each of the four walks between 8.30pm and 10.30pm on Tuesday January 12, Wednesday January 13, Tuesday January 19 and Wednesday January 20, 2016.

City of Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Rod Fyffe said all of the walks will be led by City’s Park Rangers and are designed to introduce the public to some of the not often seen local nocturnal critters and gain some great general information about the local natural environment.

“Each time we run the spotlight walks we receive fantastic feedback. People appreciate the opportunity to be involved in a guided walk of this type and the City is pleased to be able to offer the unique walks again in 2016.
“While we can never guarantee that you’ll see certain animals we’re sure you’ll have an enjoyable and informative evening with our Park Rangers.

“The walks are extremely popular and are always booked out well in advance so the trick is to get in early to avoid disappointment,” said Cr Fyffe.

Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning the City of Greater Bendigo on 54346000.

Additional information and the location of the walks will be provided upon booking. Children must be aged eight or over to take part in the walks.

Further Information can be obtained by contacting Anthony Sheean on 5434 6374 or 0419762787.
