Ulumbarra means ‘gather together’ in the Dja Dja Wurrung language and that is exactly what residents and visitors to Greater Bendigo have done over the past eight months.

Since opening on April 17 this year, Ulumbarra has hosted 105,000 people who have flocked to the spectacular venue and enjoyed a range of performances, functions and events.

Major arts organisations and the community and corporate sectors are all taking the opportunity to showcase their performances and events at Ulumbarra.

City of Greater Bendigo Capital Venues and Events Manager, David Lloyd, said the organisation could not be happier with the response it has received to Ulumbarra.

“The theatre’s reputation continues to grow at a local and national level. Everyone we take on a tour through the venue and those who come along to a show are stunned and surprised at just how amazing it is, with many calling it a world class facility,” Mr Lloyd said.
The Capital also continues to welcome a great number of patrons. In the past five months 30,000 people attended performances and events at the theatre.

“The Capital is an ideal venue to host smaller events and more intimate performances, and remains a popular choice for businesses and artists,” Mr Lloyd said.

If you are yet to visit Ulumbarra, make 2016 the year to take in a performance, attend an event or go on a tour of the unique building.
