Police dog uses beer to track suspects
Story by | Added 16-08-2015 | Source | Leave a Comment

A police dog has used the smell of beer to track down two men fleeing from WA police.

Police were chasing two men driving a Mitsubishi Triton northern Perth suburb of Ballajura early Saturday morning who failed to stop.

Police dog Slam was called in to track down the pair after the abandoned car was found on a footpath on Jakaranda Drive.

Slam quickly found an empty beer bottle in Chipala Park and used his highly trained sense of smell to locate the men hiding behind a truck in a nearby street.
Police say one of the men was carrying the same kind of beer that Slam had earlier detected.

The men were taken into custody.
