Australians threaten travel boycott as Bali Nine pair await their execution

As time runs out for Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, Indonesia has been warned Australians may boycott travelling to Bali if the executions go ahead.

The pair's lawyers and families have pointed out the lengths Indonesia goes to in order to save its own citizens from death row in other countries and believe the policy could hurt tourism.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi has reportedly defended their position, saying they are obliged to defend their own people.

Ms Marsudi also said she did not think a "friendly country" like Australia would tell its citizens to boycott Indonesia as a holiday destination.
Indonesian Attorney-General Muhammad Prasetyo said as soon as all the prisoners are together on the prison island of Nusa Kambagan, he will set the date for the executions.

Today a meeting to decide when Chan and Sukumaran would be moved to to the island was postponed.

Meanwhile the Australian Federal Police has refused to talk about its role in tipping off Indonesian authorities to the Bali Nine plot instead of arresting them in Australia where the death penalty would not have applied.

Deputy Commissioner Graham Ashton said he rejected any claims the AFP is to blame for the pair's death.

"The AFP doesn't have blood on its hands," he said.

Mr Ashton said the AFP will explain itself when clemency matters have been dealt with, which means Chan and Sukumaran themselves may never hear it.
