Car shunted into train's path in Vic |
Train services between Melbourne and Ballarat have been halted after a car was clipped by a passing train.
A woman escaped with a minor leg injury when her car was shunted onto the railway tracks at a level crossing, managing to get out of the vehicle before it was hit.
Paramedics have checked all 200 people on board the train, which came to a halt, but there were no injuries.
"It's everyone's worst nightmare that and obviously it is very, very fortunate nobody was seriously injured here," V-Line spokesman Colin Tyrus told AAP.
Police say the accident happened just before 4pm when a vehicle rear-ended the woman's car, which was stopped at the level crossing on Hopkins Rd at Rockbank.
All services between Melbourne and Ballarat were replaced with coaches, as police investigated and inspected the track.
